Contemporary Istanbul 2021

 

We visited "Contemporary Istanbul", which was held for the 15th time this year with the main sponsorship of Akbank, at the Rumeli Halls of the Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center with the students of the Altier Academy Fashion Design Department.

 

In this exhibition where we had the opportunity to examine the works of Turkey's leading contemporary art galleries and artists; Anna Laudel, Art On Istanbul, Art Refinery, Artopol, Bozlu Art Project, CEP Gallery, C24, Dirimart, Faar Art Gallery, Gallery 77, Binyil, Diani, MCRD, Nev Istanbul, Siyah Beyaz, Galeri/Miz, Gama Gallery, Öktem There were 26 galleries in total, including Aykut, PI Artworks, Piramid Art, Sanatorium, Sevil Dolmacı Art Gallery, Vision Art Platform, X-ist, and Zilberman Gallery, founded by painter Bedri Baykam.

  ARTOPOL ART GALLERY

Contemporary Istanbul Foundation was established in 2018 to contribute to the development of contemporary art, to support artists from different principles, to ensure that contemporary art is understood and spread to large masses. Continuing its non-profit activities, the foundation develops projects for the development of contemporary art with its exhibitions, events and educational programs.

 

 

 

Ali Güreli, Chairman of the Board of Contemporary Istanbul, expresses the focus of the 15th edition as follows: “Despite all the difficulties, Contemporary Istanbul continues on its way by creating new opportunities. We developed with Virtual Contemporary Istanbul in 2020. i presented it with the support of BB. Now, in May, we are fulfilling our duty and responsibility to Istanbul and the art market."

After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Letters, Art History undergraduate program in 2017, he completed his Pedagogical Formation education at Istanbul University. Bıyıklı, who is currently the Librarian at the Altier Fashion and Beauty Academy, helps our students develop their intellectual infrastructure with R&D studies on history and art. At the same time, he continues his academic studies with Istanbul University History undergraduate program.
